A cook-out on our super-duper new deck drew a crowd that included 4 generations. Here Great-grandma Mary Thomas (my mom) and little 9 month old Nicholas (alias Pickle) are seen enjoying the day. Everyone had a great time. We should do this more often!

A Visit From Nicholas

We had a little houseguest from August 17-20, 2006. Little 8 1/2 month old Nicholas stayed with Dave and me while his parents travelled to Las Vegas for a wedding. He was a delight to play with and take care of. His newest trick is crawling and standing up. He's ticklish, likes to go to stores and squeals with delight when something makes him happy. We had a ton of fun with him, and wore ourselves out!

Yellowstone National Park

Dave and I took a road trip to Yellowstone July20-24. We hiked a little trail here that overlooks the Old Faithful area. The gorgeous Old Faithful Inn can be see in the background. We stayed there in a newer section that actually has a bathroom in your room! Called by some "the biggest log cabin in the world", the Old Faithful Inn is one of my favorite places on earth. We had a great time!

Fire in the gully

Last night there was a grass fire in the gully where we walk every night. About 25 acres burned. It came very close to the houses up on the ridge, but fortunately none burned, and no one was hurt. You can see the firefighters next to the path, and smoke behind them.

Corinne's Birthday party

June 11, 2006. We celebrated Corinne's 30th birthday with a backyard barbecue. She says she's feeling a lot older- but 30 seems very young to me! Here she is with her husband James, 6 month old Nicholas and her little furry baby, Sosa.

In Memory of a cute little dog

On Memorial Day, May 29, Corinne & James darling little dog, Bode, was killed by a car. We have been so sad. He was the sweetest furry person you could ever meet. He would get so excited to see you and cover your face with kisses. His family misses him very much, as do I.

Dave, Sue, Dan and I hiked up to Timpanogos Cave- with a few rest stops on the way. We had a great time out in the gorgeous, cool weather. Dan said it reminded him "that there's a natural world out there." Also, through some excellent discussions, we solved many of the world's problems while on our hike.

Mother's Day Brunch

Sue took me to a Mother's Day brunch at Gardner Village. We had a great time sampling all the food-best item: a chocolate fountain with fruit, cake, and other dippers. Yum-O!! Thanks, Sue!

First Barbecue

Nicholas says "Bring on the burgers!" Although he can't eat them. He seemed to enjoy his first barbecue anyway on May 13, 2006, celebrating Sue and Dan's birthdays and Mother's Day. Whew! That's a lot of celebrating for a little guy!

Graduation!

My graduation ceremony was held today at the "E" Center in Salt Lake. I graduated with my BSN in Nursing- and as you can see, the family was there to help my celebrate- thanks family, for all the love and support! I couldn't have done it without all of you!

Corinne and I took Nicholas to get his picture taken with the Easter Bunny. He was very good and posed like a champ. Way to go little guy!

Nicholas 100 Days

Nicholas had his 100 days ceremony on March 14. We all wished him long life, happiness, and pretty much everything wonderful. Way to go sweet baby!

I went to Disneyland with Dave March 2-5th as a graduation present for both of us. Dave was such a help with my school work, I really wanted to take him on a special trip. We stayed at the Grand Californian, and did some fun and different things: the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour, Fantasmic dessert buffet, and lots more. It was a blast and a great reward!

I received my diploma from University of Phoenix in the mail. Now it seems real- I actually graduated. Hooray!!!

Last day of School!

I finally finished my bachelor's degree in nursing last night with my last class! Hooray! There was a fun surprise at home from my sweetie and my daughter- roses and fun certificates (perfect attendance!). I couldn't have done it without my entire family's support. Dave especially got me through it with encouragement, critical math help, and laboriously printing out my online books!

Thanks Dave; let's go to Disneyland!

My name is Sherrie Simpson. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I'm married to Dave (cute and still sexy), and mom to Sue, Tom, Corinne, and Dan. We also have Tom's new wife Chris- married October 1st. Corinne is married to James, and they have a darling new baby, Nicholas David, who was born December 5th.

I'm a registered nurse. I've worked for over 30 years in labor & delivery (love those babies!). I'm also in my last class for my bachelors degree in nursing at University of Phoenix.

Hobbies include exercise, travel, scrapbooking, doing things with my family, and spoiling our new grandson! I also love to shop.
